M-No de Ph.D and Planetary-Collegium: an international research network par excellence

M-Node, active in NABA since 2005, is the Italian centre of the Planetary Collegium, an international network of interdisciplinary research on the relationships between art, philosophy, technology and science, taking in researchers from all over the world. Through Plymouth University it issues the highest international academic title, equivalent to an Italian research doctorate.

Researchers, who are followed by an international group of supervisors, share the progress of the research under way with innovative methods, alternating personal sessions (seminars, workshops symposia) organized in Italy and abroad with continual telematic interaction, in a creative exchange of views and experiences. The annual research conventions, "Researching the Future", "New Media Art Education & Research" and the "Consciousness Reframed" international symposium give rise to many scientific publications. The problems faced by the research in progress at M-Node question the new forms of the virtual museum, the perceptive disturbances of contemporary cinema, the relationship between post-colonial feminism and the new medias, the theme of recycling and sustainability of works of art and relations between technologies, subjectivity and independence.
